My whole life, I was so consumed with my weight that I couldn't think of anything else I would rather do, so I made a career out of it.
Funny thing, it turns out that wasn't actually the thing that helped me. In fact I was at my heaviest when I sat for my national dietitian board exam . 🤪
Spending 9 years of my life in higher education to become a Registered Dietitian wasn't for nothing, however, it was an amazing experience and I did learn a TON.
Eventually, I reached my breaking point, and what did I do when that happened?
If you're reading this thinking,
"girl, me too!"
then stay with me here!
You look around and everyone is eating - seemingly carefree. Enjoying brunch and mimosas without a care in the world. Not obsessing over everything they eat, or drink, or how they are going to work-off those calories later.
So, why me?
Why do I always have watch what I eat, it's just not fair. 😒
These are the questions I used to ask myself daily.
I’ve battled with my weight my whole life, and tried just about everything: Weight Watchers (like 10x), Nutrisystem, Lo-Carb, Paleo, excessive exercising (Tae Bo anyone?), fat loss pills, and extremely low calories to lose weight. Either these didn’t work, or it didn't last, and it was a CONSTANT battle with my body and my mind.
e x h a u s t i n g 😩
If you can’t see yourself doing something for more than a week, then you need to find a better plan.
Enjoying life, and capturing it more in my mind than on social media.
Quitters, complainers, and liars. If you can’t own your shit, then you don’t get my time.
Keeping it real, progress over perfection, lifelong learning, and that asking for help is a sign of strength.
*We don't sugarcoat things here, not sorry*
Around here we change the "I should's" into "I choose".
I am very much on a mission to STOP the diet culture nonsense and get to the core of what is really going on. Health is the priority, not body fat %, but oddly enough most women, myself included, want to lose weight for the latter not the former.
Come with me on a journey to sustainable self-improvement, let’s cancel perfection, and embrace progress. Losing weight doesn’t have to be a chore. You can Learn to Lose weight & Live your life while you do it!
That's what saved me, and it's how I save women just like you from their bullshit
You know, the crazy expectations and getting mad at myself for not having achieved my weight-loss goal sooner.
This didn't happen overnight, oh no no no. It was still a journey. I still tried different diets, but I realized I was learning HOW to really understand what it takes to lose weight and keep it off.
I realized it takes time, it takes awareness of who you are, what you are capable of and not what you think you "should be" doing. So I focus on collecting and analyzing your personal data in order to create that awareness.
When you have actual information to look at, it's so much easier to make lifestyle changes instead of just throwing spaghetti at a wall, why not aim for the bowl?
It takes forming habits that you can do and can live with. Around here we start with manageable, easy wins, and build off of them. After all, habits don't form overnight, and the best habits are the ones you can actually stick to.
It also takes a change in how you think, in how you choose to see the obstacles that will always come up and get in the way on your journey. Without this curiosity to react differently than you have before, or how you think you "should be", you will never truly make lasting change.
Together, we'll focus on shifting the thoughts that have prevented your progress by using psychology to bring thought-freedom to your life - and this is the ultimate game changer.
